Hey Rach. So this Lighthouse is something I’m definitely going to do, so I’ve already been looking up & pricing the items I need. The plan is to buy a big marquee – one that is strong and durable. This marquee will be used a lot throughout 2015, travelling around the country and hopefully into 2016 too. I’ll need to buy blackout (thick black) curtains to make the marquee dark enough for the experiments, so it’ll be like my dark room lab. These blackout curtains are quite expensive and I need to figure out a way to rig them up. After that, it’s then deciding what experiments to put inside. I have a lot of ideas and I’ve asked some of my colleagues for ideas. I’m going to keep switching around the experiments inside, to keep it interesting. Finally, I might make a website for The Lighthouse to show what is inside and ideas on how to do your own light experiments.

I’m very excited about it. I don’t think there’s anything quite like it out there and it’s perfect timing for the 2015 International Year of Light. I really hope this gets off the ground and you guys will get to see The Lighthouse! 🙂
