Not sure what you mean by “pass as normal”?
The same as anything in any other job I guess.
Most engineers tend to be a bit stronger at Maths and Physics than say those in business or legal but I work in a company of 450 people. Maybe 200 are engineers, the rest are scientists, lawyers, commercial people, hr, managers, directors, customer care, markets people etc. So I’m not sure what isn’t normal. Its much like any other office I’ve ever been to.

For me normal is trying to understand the problems that could occour and getting somthing in place to prevent it from happening. Its different every day so normal is never the same

I often deal with inventors so my definition of normal has pretty wide bounds

The first thing I learned, there is no normal! For me my work is anything but normal, some days I work on solar cells, other days I’m working on a startup company for smart lighting or I could be asked to work on projects for other people involving horses. It’s the abnormal stuff that makes it interesting and this makes sure that no day is the same and it keeps it fun.

Who wants to be normal, that’s no fun!

Expect the unexpected – that is normal 🙂
