• Question: Did you all ways want to be an engineer ?

      no not really. When I was a kid I had no idea of what an engineer was and what they did. I was the first in my family to go to University so I had no preconceived ideas about where I was going. I DID know that I wanted to make things and understand things… so without knowing it I was heading towards being an engineer.

      Yes, pretty much from when I was 5 and realised that farming isn’t all that great.

      I can’t really remember wanting to be anything else – so possibly yes!

      Not always. I used to think I wanted to be agricultural scientist. I tried it but didnt like it. i moved to engineering and have loved it ever since

      I had no idea what I wanted to be growing up. I just didn’t think about it. When I was a kid I wanted to be Dr. Who’s companion Ace and travel around in space and time. When I got to Leaving Cert the career guidance councillor recommended Engineering and that was a perfect fit for me. Unfortunately I didn’t get the points so I took the scenic route through science!
