The electronic components (resistors, sensors, Arduino microcontrollers etc…) come from Radionics or Farnell and the chemicals usually come from Sigma Aldrich. The specialised equipment like a source meter (to read current & voltage) comes from Keithley and the optical components (spectrometer, optical fibre…) came from Ocean Optics.

However, I don’t have a very high budget to spend, so I tend to “borrow” equipment and materials from other groups.

I don’t need materials for my day job.

Radionics, Farnell and er, eBay for hobby stuff.

Most of my work is software based – so all you need is a laptop and an idea! 🙂
